The Indigenous Youth Employment Program is a 16-week paid program for youth 17-30 who are looking to gain employment skills and experience to work in a community-based setting. In addition to group training, workshops, and 1-1 support from employment counsellors, participants will complete an 8-week practicum placement at a community partner employer.
In addition to workshops that teach the ‘basics’ of securing a job (i.e. resume and cover letter writing, interview skills, and job searching), there will be a strong Indigenous cultural component, mentor speakers, guest facilitators, as well as life skills workshops such as techniques for learning time management skills, anxiety management skills, an introduction to budgeting, meditation and breathing techniques, and more!
